MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 12, 2013 04:28 PM

To: All House members
Subject: Reduce the Fee for Military Veteran License Plates

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that amends Title 75 (Transportation) by reducing the fee for military veteran license plates from the current fee of $20.00 to a fee of $7.50.

I have been contacted by numerous veterans in my legislative district on this issue. They contend that the veteran community should not have to pay an extra $12.50 processing fee for their right to proudly display a license plate which honors their military service. The military veteran license plates that are affected by this legislation are as follows:

  • Expeditionary forces
  • Korean Defense service
  • Korean war Veteran
  • Operation Enduring Freedom
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom
  • Pearl Harbor Survivor
  • Persian Gulf War Veteran
  • U.S. Air Force Veteran
  • U.S. Army Veteran
  • U.S. Coast Guard Veteran
  • U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
  • U.S. Navy Veteran
  • Veteran
  • Vietnam War Veteran
  • World War II Veteran
If you have any questions about this legislation, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your support of this very important proposal.
