MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 7, 2013 12:11 PM
From: Representative Maria P. Donatucci
To: All House members
Subject: Co-sponsorship of Legislation Requiring Notification to an Owner Regrading Removal of a Legally Parked Motor Vehicle

In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that would amend Title 75 (Vehicles), Section 3352, of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, to add “subsection (e),” that would require a notice to the owner regarding removal of a legally parked vehicle.

Far too often, an owner legally parks their vehicle, only later to find their vehicle was moved to an illegal location for one reason or another, through no fault of their own. My proposal would require police officers or their designee to affix a sticker to the vehicle indicating the date, time, and purpose of removal, its new location, and the entity responsible for the removal. If enacted, this legislation would allow a responsible citizen to be relieved of the burden of seeking proof that their vehicle was moved by another party.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
