Subject: Co-sponsorship - Game Commission Timber Harvest (Former HB 513)
 
I will be re-introducing a bill that would set aside ten percent of revenue generated from timber sales on Game Commission land for the purpose of forest regeneration activities. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has been effectively utilizing an equivalent program since the passage of the Conservation and Natural Resources Act of 1995.

By setting aside ten percent toward forest regeneration expenses, we are investing in stewardship practices that will enhance our existing forest ecosystems and ensure that they will be available for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.
