Subject: | KEG TAGGING (FORMER HB 652) |
Underage drinking has been a perennial problem for law enforcement officials. While the Legislature has stiffened penalties to curb underage drinking, the problem and its social costs remains with us. Another approach to dealing with this serious social problem is to require keg tagging. This is simply requiring the purchaser of a beer keg to provide his/her name, address and other such information as may be prescribed. Too often, beer parties involving the underaged are the result of some adult providing the beer.
