Subject: Proposed Legislation - Westmoreland County Park Police (prior SB657 from 2011-2012 Session)
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation addressing Westmoreland County Park Police and MPOETC training requirements.

This legislation would define the following:

This legislation would amend Title 53 (Municipalities Code) by adding the Westmoreland County Park Police Department to the law enforcement entities subject to the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission training requirements.

The legislation provides that county park police officers in Westmoreland County will be required to obtain the same training as municipal officers. The county is liable for any costs associated with training and certification.
