MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 2, 2013 02:40 PM
From: Representative RoseMarie Swanger
To: All House members
Subject: Increase Fee Charged for Accident Reports

I have been asked by police chiefs in my district to slightly increase the cost of providing an accident report to citizens.

Accordingly, I am introducing legislation to allow municipal police departments to charge a little more money for providing such reports.

Currently, a police department in the City of Philadelphia may charge $25. My legislation would raise that fee to $35. In all other municipalities, the fee would rise from the current $15 to $30.

Philadelphia Current- $25 Proposed- $35
All other municipalities Current- $15 Proposed- $30

The fees were originally set in 2004 and have not been changed since that time.
