MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 2, 2013 11:05 AM
From: Representative Louise Williams Bishop
To: All House members
Subject: Co-Sponsorship: Reporting of Sex Offenses Against Children to Law Enforcement

In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation (former HB1876) which would prosecute anyone who has knowledge that sex offenses are occurring against children but fail to report the incidents to law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania.

I feel the earlier the child sexual abuse is reported, the better the chance of recovery and appropriate treatment for the child.
