Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 2, 2013 11:00 AM
From: Representative Louise Williams Bishop
To: All House members
Subject: Co-Sponsorship: Eliminating the Statute of Limitations

In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation (former HB832) that would change the law that would lift the current statute of limitations on criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits against people who commit sex crimes against Pennsylvania children.

Cutting off the ability of victims to pursue criminal prosecution or civil action against their attackers after a certain age is unfair and allows criminals to go unpunished.

Former co-sponsors: McGEEHAN , PASHINSKI , K. BOYLE, BRIGGS, P. COSTA , DAVIS, DAVIDSON, HESS , JOSEPHS, M. K. KELLER , KORTZ , METCALFE , MURPHY, MURT , MYERS , M. O'BRIEN , READSHAW , SANTARSIERO, SCAVELLO , STABACK , STEVENSON , SWANGER , YOUNGBLOOD , K. SMITH , EVERETT , MIRABITO, GALLOWAY , DONATUCCI, HORNAMAN , FARRY, GERBER , GINGRICH and MILNE
