Subject: 10 Day Notice of Price on Home Heating Fuel Prior - HB1488
 
Many elderly customers are taken advantage of by propane and home heating fuel companies on a daily basis. That is why it is my intent to level the playing field by allowing customers to see the price they may potentially pay for fuel, prior to delivery.

I encourage you to join me in cosponsoring a bill that would provide a safety net for customers, prior to automatic delivery of home heating fuel. My legislation mandates that if a home heating fuel customer is enrolled in a company’s automatic refill program and the price of home heating fuel has increased since the last delivery date, the home heating fuel company must provide notice to the customer of such increase in price, 10 days prior to delivery.
