MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 20, 2012 04:37 PM
From: Representative Will Tallman
To: All House members
Subject: Property Tax Relief -- Prior HB 2315

TO: All House Members
FROM: Rep. Will Tallman
DATE: December 20, 2012
SUBJECT: Property Tax Relief - Prior HB 2315

In the near future I plan to reintroduce legislation (former HB 2315).

Property tax and land assessment reform is an issue that has been debated and considered on multiple occasions over the course of recent legislative sessions. The need for these debates, stem from the burden property taxes place on homeowners.

This legislation by amending Title 53 as it relates to actual property tax limitations. If enacted, my legislation would prohibit property taxes from being increased more than 10% annually as a result of a reassessment. This 10% annual limit would be in place until the total property tax obligation rate is realized for a single tract or parcel of real property

Introduced as HB338
