Subject: | Increasing Motorcycle Safety |
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that will increase motorcycle safety by amending Title 75 to restrict motorcycle learner’s permit reapplications to only three times in a ten year period. I have been working with law enforcement and motorcycle organizations on this legislation. We have been dealing with individuals who continually violate the restrictions of motorcycle permits because they treat permits like actual licenses. Permits are temporary and their purpose is to get riders to obtain full driver’s licenses. This legislation will enable riders to learn properly while pushing them to actually get their motorcycle licenses. This legislation is supported by the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education, A.B.A.T.E. Please join me in supporting this reasonable measure designed to better educate motorcycle riders who are most at risk and in turn make the roads safer for all Pennsylvanians. |
