Act of Dec. 4, 1992, P.L. 775, No. 120 Cl. 87
                                  AN ACT

Designating State Route 4008 as Blair County Veterans Memorial

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The General Assembly finds and declares that:
            (1) In November 1933, State Route 4008 was dedicated as
a natural memorial to the soldier dead and its war mothers.
            (2) State Route 4008 was selected as the site for the
Blair County road memorial because of its connections to the
early history of central Pennsylvania and the famous
Horseshoe Curve on the Pennsylvania railroad.
            (3) In honor and memory of the veterans who have served
our country, the Commonwealth is reaffirming that dedication
and designating State Route 4008 as the Blair County Veterans
Memorial Highway as a tribute to veterans of all wars.
Section 2. State Route 4008 extending from Broad Avenue and
Fortieth Street in the city of Altoona to the railroad underpass
at the Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark is hereby
designated and shall be known as the Blair County Veterans
     Memorial Highway.
Section 3. The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain road signs which shall display the name of the Blair
     County Veterans Memorial Highway.
Section 4. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
