PROVIDING PENSION TO WIDOWS OF PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE OFFICERS
                 Act of Dec. 22, 1965, P.L. 1164, No. 458             Cl. 44
                                  AN ACT

     Providing for payments to certain widows of members of the
        Pennsylvania State Police, the State Highway Patrol or the
        Pennsylvania Motor Police, and making an appropriation.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  The widow of any member of the Pennsylvania State
     Police, the State Highway Patrol or the Pennsylvania Motor
     Police whose husband died prior to January 1, 1938, as a direct
     and proximate result of injuries received in the course of his
     employment, shall, commencing with the effective date of this
     act, and so long as she remains his widow and does not remarry,
     receive a monthly payment equal to fifty percent of the monthly
     salary of such member at the time of his death.
        It shall be the duty of the Pennsylvania State Police to
     determine the persons entitled to payments pursuant to the
     provisions of this act.
        Section 2.  The sum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000), or
     as much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby specifically
     appropriated to the State Employes' Retirement Fund for the
     fiscal year July 1, 1965, to June 30, 1966, for the purpose of
     making the payments provided for in this act and for
     administrative costs related thereto.
        Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
