REQUIRING TURNPIKE TUNNELS TO BE PAINTED A LIGHT COLOR

                                  AN ACT

     Requiring all tunnels on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to be painted
        white or lined with a light colored material and be equipped
        with continuous lighting.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission shall cause
     the interior of each tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to be
     painted white or be lined with a light colored material which
     reflects light. It shall also equip each tunnel with continuous
     lighting of sufficient candlepower to eliminate any blind-vision
     areas while traveling through the tunnels.
        Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
