AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF FORESTS AND WATERS TO CONVEY LAND

                                  AN ACT

     Authorizing the Department of Forests and Waters, with the
        approval of the Governor, to convey to the City of Erie the
        Canal Basins situate in the City of Erie, Erie County,
        Pennsylvania.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  The Department of Forests and Waters, acting on
     behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with the approval of
     the Governor, is hereby authorized to convey, to the City of
     Erie, all that certain tract of land covered with water situate
     at the foot and on both sides of State Street in the City of
     Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania, described and known as the
     Canal Basins.
        Section 2.  The deed of conveyance shall be approved by the
     Department of Justice, and shall be executed by the Secretary of
     Forests and Waters in the name of the Commonwealth of
     Pennsylvania.
        Section 3.  The Canal Basins conveyed to the City of Erie
     under the authority of this act shall be controlled and managed
     by the City of Erie.
        Section 4.  The act of May twenty-seven, one thousand nine
     hundred twenty-one (Pamphlet Laws 1180), entitled "An act
     dedicating certain lands of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
     situated in the city and county of Erie, to public use as an
     historical memorial and public State park; aiding in the
     development of the harbor of Erie; and creating a commission to
     manage and control said lands and said harbor improvements;
     empowering said commission to purchase or receive by gift other
     lands for the purpose of this act; providing for the appointment
     of members of said commission, and that the Secretary of
     Internal Affairs and the Commissioner of Fisheries shall be ex
     officio members thereof; defining the duties and powers of said
     commission; excepting rights and privileges in said lands
     heretofore granted; and making an appropriation," is repealed in
     so far as it is inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
