PROVIDING COMPENSATION FOR OFFICERS IN SECOND CLASS A CITIES
                 Act of May 20, 1949, P.L. 1591, No. 480              Cl. 11
                                  AN ACT

     Providing for the compensation of the mayor, council and
        appointed officers in cities of the second class A.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  The city council in cities of the second class A
     shall fix the salary of the mayor, the members of council, the
     controller, and appointed city officers. The salary of the mayor
     shall be not less than seven thousand five hundred dollars
     ($7,500) per annum; the salary of each member of council shall
     be not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000) per annum; the
     salary of the controller and the salaries of appointed city
     officers shall be fixed by the city council.

        Section 2.  The act, approved the twenty-seventh day of
     April, one thousand nine hundred twenty-seven (Pamphlet Laws
     405), entitled "An act fixing the salary of the mayor and
     members of the council in cities of the second class A," is
     hereby repealed.
