A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of November 13 through 17, 2023, as
"Certified Public Accountant Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (PICPA) is the premier association of accounting and
finance professionals in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, PICPA was organized in 1897 and represents
approximately 20,000 certified public accountants (CPAs) in
public practice, industry, government and education; and
WHEREAS, The mission of PICPA is to serve the needs of its
members by promoting and maintaining high professional and
ethical standards of public accountancy; and
WHEREAS, PICPA is committed to protecting the interests of
the public; and
WHEREAS, CPAs of this Commonwealth are trusted advisors to
hundreds of thousands of taxpayers and businesses and help
foster economic growth in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, CPAs of this Commonwealth provide career sessions to

students about business and the role of accountants; and
WHEREAS, PICPA also provides educational materials and
programs to enhance the financial literacy of the public;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of November 13 through 17, 2023, as "Certified Public
Accountant Week" in Pennsylvania and extend sincere appreciation
to the CPAs of this Commonwealth for their services to the
people of this Commonwealth.
