AN ACT
Amending the act of December 12, 1973 (P.L.397, No.141),
entitled "An act relating to certification of teachers in the
public schools of the Commonwealth and creating a
Professional Standards and Practices Commission," further
providing for immunity from liability.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 17.1 of the act of December 12, 1973
(P.L.397, No.141), known as the Educator Discipline Act, is
amended by adding a subsection to read:
Section 17.1. Immunity From Liability.--* * *
(a.1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person
shall be subject to discipline or civil liability for refusing,
in the absence of malice, to use an individual's preferred
pronouns.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
