AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in sentencing, further
providing for registration.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 9799.55 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
ยง 9799.55. Registration.

(c.1) Residency.--
(1) A sexually violent predator may not reside within
2,500 feet of a public school, private school, parochial
school or day-care center for the duration of the required
period of registration under subsection (b).
(2) Any sexually violent predator who resides within
2,500 feet of a public school, private school, parochial
school or day-care center as of the effective date of this
paragraph shall, within six months of the effective date of

this paragraph, relocate to another residence that is
situated at least 2,500 feet from a public school, private
school, parochial school or day-care center. Nothing in this
section shall be construed to override or abrogate any law
enforcement notification requirements under this chapter.

Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
