its ninth National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

Division I Wrestling Championship in the past 12 years and 10th

title overall; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University Wrestling Head

Coach Cael Sanderson and his coaching staff won their ninth NCAA

Division I Wrestling Championship; and

WHEREAS, Coach Sanderson earned the title of 2022 Big Ten

Coach of the Year; and

WHEREAS, The collective wrestling team coaching staff has

been instrumental in the team's multiple successes; and

division; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Roman

Bravo-Young earned the All-American distinction for the fourth

time and placed first in the 133-pound final of the Big Ten

Tournament for the second time; and

WHEREAS, In his fourth appearance at the NCAA Championship

Tournament, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Nick Lee

won his second NCAA wrestling title in the 141-pound division;

and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Nick Lee

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Carter

Starocci earned the All-American distinction for the second time

and placed first in the 174-pound final of the Big Ten

Tournament; and

WHEREAS, In his second appearance at the NCAA Championship

Tournament, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Aaron

Brooks won his second NCAA wrestling title in the 184-pound

division; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Aaron

Brooks earned the All-American distinction for the third time

won his first NCAA wrestling title in the 197-pound division;

and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Max Dean

earned the All-American distinction for the third time and

placed first in the 197-pound final of the Big Ten Tournament;

and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Greg

Kerkvliet earned fourth place in the 285-pound division and

earned the All-American distinction for the second time; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University wrestler Drew

wrestlers have won 32 individual titles, approximately 29.1% of

all individual titles fought in the NCAA Championship

Tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University is the only team

since Coach Sanderson's arrival in 2011 with at least one victor

from each individual weight class in the NCAA Championship

Tournament; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate congratulate members of The

Pennsylvania State University wrestling team on its 10th

National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Wrestling

and their individual awards; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Senate wish The Pennsylvania State

University wrestling team continued success both athletically

and academically in the future.
