A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the week of October 24 through 30, 2021, as "Pro
Bono Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The 13th annual "National Pro Bono Week" is being
celebrated from October 24 through 30, 2021, with the theme of
"Moving Forward in a Post-Pandemic World"; and
WHEREAS, "National Pro Bono Week" is an opportunity to
highlight the differences that lawyers make in their
communities, to recruit and train more pro bono volunteers and
to acknowledge the partnerships that form the basis for many of
the private bar's most successful pro bono efforts; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Bar Association is joining with the
American Bar Association to sponsor this year's annual "National
Pro Bono Week" celebration; and
WHEREAS, "National Pro Bono Week" provides numerous
opportunities to highlight the good work that Pennsylvania
attorneys do for the neediest among us; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is a leader in celebrating "National

Pro Bono Week," with numerous events being held across this
Commonwealth, including both virtual and face-to-face legal aid
clinics; and
WHEREAS, The 2021 national and Pennsylvania celebrations may
look different from the celebrations in years past, and planning
is difficult when the future is unknown, but the lawyers in this
Commonwealth know that there is even greater urgency this year
for pro bono services to those in need; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize the week of October 24
through 30, 2021, as "Pro Bono Week" in Pennsylvania.
