AN ACT
Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in Commonwealth services, further
providing for definitions and for assistance to fire
companies and EMS companies.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The definition of "fire company" in section 7363
of Title 35 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, added
October 29, 2020 (P.L.739, No.91), is amended to read:
§ 7363. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Fire company." [A volunteer fire company.] A volunteer
nonprofit chartered fire company or municipal-owned fire company
or department.

Section 2. Section 7364(c.1) of Title 35 is amended by
adding paragraphs to read:
§ 7364. Assistance to fire companies and EMS companies.

(c.1) Application review committee.--The office shall
establish an application review committee to review loan
applications and recommendations on loan applications under this
section. The application review committee shall regularly meet
at least quarterly to review loan applications and make
recommendations on loan applications to the office. The
application review committee shall be chaired by the
commissioner or the commissioner's designee and include the
following members:

(10) A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION OF
THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA.
(10) (11) A representative of the Pennsylvania
Professional Fire Fighters Association.
(11) (12) A representative of the Pennsylvania Career
Fire Chiefs Association.
(12) (13) The Secretary of the Department of Community
and Economic Development or the secretary's designee.
(13) (14) The Secretary of the Department of
Conservation and Natural Resources or the secretary's
designee.

Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
