A RESOLUTION
Urging the Governors of New York and New Jersey to end anti-
pipeline policies that block Pennsylvania natural gas from
reaching markets in New England.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is the second-largest natural gas
producing state in the country; and
WHEREAS, The domestic production of natural gas has produced
average annual household energy savings of between $1,100 and
$2,200 for Pennsylvania customers; and
WHEREAS, Natural gas has reduced Pennsylvania power sector
CO2 emissions by 41% since 2005; and
WHEREAS, The Governor of New York and the Governor of New
Jersey have refused to issue permits for new pipeline
construction that could deliver Pennsylvania natural gas to
markets in New England; and
WHEREAS, Insufficient pipeline service results in New England
importing liquified natural gas from foreign countries; and
