AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for
apportioned registration renewal.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 1309.1. Apportioned registration renewal.
The department shall establish a system of staggered
apportioned registration renewal in a manner that an
approximately equal number of apportioned registrations will
expire in no less than four periods throughout the year. In
order to implement and maintain the staggered apportioned
registration system, the department may prorate annual
apportioned registration fees over apportioned registration
periods from six to 18 months.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 180 days.
