AN ACT
Designating that portion of U.S. Route 11 at the intersection of
W. Main Street and Market Street, in Bloomsburg, Columbia
County, as the Back the Blue Square.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Back the Blue Square.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Law enforcement officers put themselves in harm's
way each day to protect the residents within their local
communities.
(2) The phrase "Back the Blue" is used to foster a
positive climate between law enforcement officers, local
communities and businesses.
(3) The designation under this section is intended to
honor all law enforcement officers.
(b) Designation.--That portion of U.S. Route 11 at the
intersection of W. Main Street and Market Street in Bloomsburg,

Columbia County, is designated as the Back the Blue Square.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the square to
traffic in both directions on the square.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
