AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in limitation of time,
providing for real estate appraisals.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 5539. Real estate appraisals.
Any action to recover damages against a real estate appraiser
arising out of the appraiser's real estate appraisal activity
shall be brought within one year from a person's discovery of
the act or omission giving rise to the action, but in no event
shall an action to recover damages against a real estate
appraiser be brought more than five years after the date the
appraisal was conducted.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
