AN ACT
Amending the act of November 10, 1999 (P.L.491, No.45), entitled
"An act establishing a uniform construction code; imposing
powers and duties on municipalities and the Department of
Labor and Industry; providing for enforcement; imposing
penalties; and making repeals," in adoption and enforcement
by municipalities, further providing for administration and
enforcement.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 501 of the act of November 10, 1999
(P.L.491, No.45), known as the Pennsylvania Construction Code
Act, is amended by adding a subsection to read:
Section 501. Administration and enforcement.

(i) Permits.--The following apply to a permit issued for
construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, movement,
demolition or change in the occupancy of a commercial building,
structure or facility or to the erection, installment,
enlargement, alteration, repair, removal, conversion or
replacement of an electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system

regulated by the Uniform Construction Code:
(1) The permit holder shall keep a copy of the permit on
the work site until the completion of the work. A building
code official may require the display of the permit on the
work site if the display is practicable.
(2) If applicable, the name and address of the general
contractor and any subcontractor shall be disclosed in
writing to the building code official prior to the work being
performed by the general contractor or subcontractor.
(3) If the building code official has required the
display of the permit on the work site, the permit holder
shall also display the name of the general contractor and any
subcontractor disclosed to the building code official under
paragraph (2).
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
