AN ACT
Amending the act of July 5, 2012 (P.L.990, No.110), entitled "An
act providing for licensure of vendors, for requirements for
sale of portable electronics insurance, for authority of
vendors of portable electronics, for termination of portable
electronics insurance, for licensing, for renewal of license,
for injunctions and for appeals," further providing for
standards for tow truck operators and towing storage
facilities.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 3 of the act of July 5, 2012 (P.L.990,
No.110), known as the Towing and Towing Storage Facility
Standards Act, is amended by adding subsections to read:
Section 3. Standards for tow truck operators and towing storage
facilities.

(h) Storage fees limited.--A towing storage facility may not
charge more than $40 per 24-hour period of total daily storage
fees for a noncommercial vehicle and the charges shall not
accrue beyond three months. The total daily storage fees for a
noncommercial vehicle shall be conspicuously posted at the

towing storage facility.
(i) Notice.--A towing storage facility shall make good faith
efforts to notify the owner, lessor or lienholder of a stored
motor vehicle of the stored vehicle's location. Written
correspondence sent via first class mail to the address
registered with the Department of Transportation shall satisfy
the notice requirement under this subsection.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
