AN ACT
Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in county correctional institutions,
further providing for definitions.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The definition of "county" in section 1722 of
Title 61 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to
read:
ยง 1722. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"County." A county of the second class or second class A or
a county that has elected to be governed by the provisions of
this subchapter under section 1723(d) (relating to county jail
oversight board).
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
