AN ACT
Amending the act of November 10, 1999 (P.L.491, No.45), entitled
"An act establishing a uniform construction code; imposing
powers and duties on municipalities and the Department of
Labor and Industry; providing for enforcement; imposing
penalties; and making repeals," in preliminary provisions,
further providing for definitions and for application.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 103 of the act of November 10, 1999
(P.L.491, No.45), known as the Pennsylvania Construction Code
Act, is amended by adding a definition to read:
Section 103. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Campground." An area on private property managed primarily
for outdoor recreation purposes where the following amenities
are provided:

(1) tent or trailer spaces;
(2) cabins for recreational purposes;
(3) drinking water;
(4) an access road;
(5) refuse containers;
(6) toilet facilities;
(7) the personal collection of recreation use fees by an
employee of the campground;
(8) reasonable visitor protection; or
(9) devices for containing fires, if campfires are
permitted in the campground.

Section 2. Section 104(b) of the act is amended by adding a
paragraph to read:
Section 104. Application.

(b) Exclusions.--This act shall not apply to any of the
following:

(11) A pre-engineered and prefabricated cabin intended
for recreational purposes on a campground which is:
(i) Delivered to a campground and placed as an
already-completed structure.
(ii) Utilized only for recreational activity by the
general public.
(iii) Not utilized as a domicile or residence for an
individual for any time period.
(iv) Not greater than one story in height.
(v) Not greater than 750 square feet in total area,
not including deck or porch areas that are an integral

part of prefabrication.
(vi) Equipped with at least one smoke detector, one
fire extinguisher and one carbon monoxide detector in
both the kitchen and sleeping quarters.
(vii) Installed in accordance with pre-engineered
and prefabricated assembly instructions.
Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
