A RESOLUTION
Designating July 25, 2020, August 22, 2020, September 26, 2020,
October 24, 2020, and December 19, 2020, as "Small Business
Days" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Half of the United States population owns or works
for a small business; and
WHEREAS, An estimated two out of every three new jobs are
produced by small businesses nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Statewide, small businesses comprise 99.6% of all
employers and 2.5 million private-sector employees while still
attracting new investments and new jobs; and
WHEREAS, The 1 million small businesses in this Commonwealth
contribute billions of dollars in annual income, including
benefits; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses working with the Office of Small
Business Advocate have secured annual utility cost savings of
$35 million; and
WHEREAS, Significant cumulative utility cost savings, nearing
$130 million, are projected over the next three years; and

WHEREAS, Commonwealth initiatives provide resources, training
and other assistance for the licensing and progress of small
businesses in our communities; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate July 25, 2020, August 22,
2020, September 26, 2020, October 24, 2020, and December 19,
2020, as "Small Business Days" in Pennsylvania.
