AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in inspection of vehicles, providing for date for
emissions testing equipment.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 4706 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
ยง 4706. Prohibition on expenditures for emission inspection
program.

(k) New testing equipment.--Notwithstanding any law, an
emissions inspection station in existence before March 1, 2019,
shall have the option to obtain new emissions testing equipment
required by the department by July 1, 2021. If the emissions
inspection station elects not to obtain the new emissions
testing equipment, the emissions inspection station must
immediately notify the department.
Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
