A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of November 2020 as "Pulmonary
Hypertension Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania and commending
the work of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
WHEREAS, The health of our communities is the foundation for
a caring and productive society and our future rests with our
ability to find cures for and adequately treat individuals who
are afflicted with a variety of illnesses, including pulmonary
hypertension; and
WHEREAS, Pulmonary hypertension is a rare disorder causing
intolerable blood pressure levels in the arteries between the
lungs and heart; and
WHEREAS, Pulmonary hypertension is chronic and incurable,
with a poor survival rate; and
WHEREAS, Symptoms of pulmonary hypertension may include chest
pain, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, swollen legs and ankles and
irregular heartbeat; and
WHEREAS, Early diagnosis can lead to early treatment and the

possibility of an improved quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Education can help with early diagnosis and funding
for research can help find a cure; and
WHEREAS, The Pulmonary Hypertension Association is a
nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of
life for those with pulmonary hypertension through education,
awareness, research, member services and patient and family
support; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of November 2020 as "Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness
Month" in Pennsylvania and commend the work of the Pulmonary
Hypertension Association.
