A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of October 11 through 17, 2020, as "Credit
Union Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Credit unions are individual, independent financial
cooperatives founded by individuals working to achieve economic
advancement with individuals seeking to improve their financial
future; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania and New Jersey have more than 510
credit unions, serving more than 5.3 million members; and
WHEREAS, Founded on the philosophy of "not for profit, not
for charity, but for service," credit unions maintain a focus on
service to their members; and
WHEREAS, Pooling personal resources and leadership abilities
for the good of the cooperative, credit unions provide low-cost
financial services to their members; and
WHEREAS, These institutions strive to educate their members
to use credit wisely while encouraging the development of
