A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of November 2020 as "Veteran Awareness
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Across this Commonwealth veterans are part of our
communities, including our children, friends, neighbors,
siblings, parents, grandparents and kind strangers; and
WHEREAS, Growing up we look up to them as coaches, teachers
and political, social and religious leaders; and
WHEREAS, We thank veterans for their service to our country,
typically on Veteran's Day every 11th of November; and
WHEREAS, While not everyone knows the full history of the
United States Armed Forces and where our servicemen and
servicewomen have served in the past and continue to represent
us today, we can all strive to learn more about the servicemen
and servicewomen who make up our communities today and take

something meaningful away from our time spent with veterans; and
WHEREAS, Whether it be inviting a veteran to speak at one of
our schools or volunteering our own time to charities and other
nonprofits which exist to advocate for and unite veterans in
this Commonwealth, there is a responsibility which all of us
should bear equal weight; and
WHEREAS, We as Pennsylvanians should better provide for the
veterans in our communities and seek to understand their stories
and the sacrifices they have made on behalf of all of us; and
WHEREAS, This resolution will serve to recognize the brave
men and women who have served our country admirably and continue
to represent our interests at home and abroad today; and
WHEREAS, This resolution aims to establish meaningful and
steady relationships between veterans and the people in their
communities beyond Veteran's Day; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of November 2020 as "Veteran Awareness Month" in
Pennsylvania.
