A RESOLUTION
Recognizing October 5, 2020, as "World Habitat Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has
helped more than 13.2 million people around the world improve
their living conditions; and
WHEREAS, The organization is a nonprofit, ecumenical
Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man,
woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place
to live; and
WHEREAS, The houses built offer simple, decent and affordable
homes to low-income families around the world; and
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity is needed to help eliminate
poverty by providing shelter to those in need; and
WHEREAS, Families left homeless by natural disasters, war and
civil unrest often face dire housing situations as they struggle
to rebuild their lives; and

WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity's Disaster Response programs
provide shelter and housing solutions to help these families
recover; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October
5, 2020, as "World Habitat Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives acknowledge
Habitat for Humanity for their outstanding contribution toward
the easing of suffering and the rebuilding of individual and
family lives on "World Habitat Day" 2020.
