A RESOLUTION
Petitioning the Governor to call a special session of the
General Assembly to address police accountability and police
violence.
WHEREAS, The nation has been shaken by police violence,
particularly directed against African Americans and people of
color; and
WHEREAS, The accountability for this police violence has been
minimal; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth is not immune from this violence
and lack of accountability; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to focus governmental attention upon
legislation to address police violence and police
accountability; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives petition the
Governor to call a special session of the General Assembly to
address police violence, particularly against African Americans
and people of color, and police accountability for such

violence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That this resolution be transmitted to the
Governor.
