A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of October 2020 as "Pennsylvania
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, As of March 2020, this Commonwealth has 24,318
licensed pharmacists working toward improving medication use by
reducing abuse and advancing patient care in all practice
settings; and
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1878, the Pennsylvania
Pharmacists Association has been a leading voice of pharmacy by
promoting the profession through advocacy, education and
communication in an effort to enhance patient care and public
health; and
WHEREAS, Pharmacists and pharmacies are responsible for
substantial contributions to health care in all practice
settings in this Commonwealth and across the nation; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is a
vibrant part of the pharmacy community in this Commonwealth and

has a diverse membership comprised of pharmacists, students,
technicians, part-time employees and retirees from a variety of
practice settings all working together to deliver the best
possible care for patients across this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, "Pennsylvania Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month" is a
time to thank our pharmacists for the work that they do and
promote medicinal education to the public, especially in a time
when health care and prescription drug abuse are major issues
facing this Commonwealth and the nation; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of October 2020 as "Pennsylvania Pharmacists and Pharmacy
Month" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage all
residents of this Commonwealth to observe "Pennsylvania
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month" and recognize and thank
pharmacists for their contributions.
