A RESOLUTION
Amending a temporary Rule of the House of Representatives,
adopted March 16, 2020, providing for notification by members
who are diagnosed with or quarantined due to COVID-19, for
temperature checks for members and staff, for the wearing of
masks or face coverings and for social distancing
requirements.
RESOLVED, That this resolution amends a temporary Rule of the
House of Representatives, adopted March 16, 2020; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the temporary rule amended and adopted by this
resolution applies notwithstanding provisions of the Rules of
the House of Representatives; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a member of the House of Representatives who

is diagnosed with COVID-19 or goes into quarantine after being
exposed to COVID-19 shall immediately inform the Speaker, the
Majority and Minority Leaders and the Chief Clerk; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk shall ensure that all members
and staff have their temperature checked prior to being admitted
into the Hall of the House while the House is in Session, or a
committee room while a committee is meeting, and prohibit
admittance for any member or staff with an elevated temperature
or fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a member present in the Hall of the House
while the House is in Session shall cover their mouth and nose
with a mask or cloth face covering, except where a member is
unable to wear a mask or cloth face covering due to a medical
condition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a member attending a committee meeting, public
hearing or informational meeting of a Committee of the House
shall cover their mouth and nose with a mask or cloth face
covering, except where a member is unable to wear a mask or
cloth face covering due to a medical condition; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a Committee of the House shall only meet in a
committee room of sufficient size and setup to allow members to
maintain social distancing of at least six feet; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That, unless amended or revoked by the House of
Representatives, the temporary rule amended by this resolution
shall expire upon expiration of the temporary Rule of the House
of Representatives adopted March 16, 2020.
