A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of May 2019 as "Global Youth Traffic
Safety Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Youth traffic safety is a vital concern for the
youths of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, The youths of this Commonwealth are an asset we
cannot afford to lose to traffic accidents; and
WHEREAS, Each person, including parents, educators, law
enforcement, elected leaders, community leaders and youths, must
play a part in protecting and educating this Commonwealth's
youths and their families about youth traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, The month of May is an opportune time to increase
awareness concerning youth traffic safety as prom season,
graduations and summer vacation months are all times of
particular safety concerns; and
WHEREAS, With the resources of the National Safety Council,
Pennsylvania Teen Safe Driving Coalition, Pennsylvania DUI

Association, Pennsylvania SADD and the House of Representatives,
we can help increase awareness about youth traffic safety;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
month of May 2019 as "Global Youth Traffic Safety Month" in
Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the
residents of this Commonwealth to take the opportunity to
educate our youths about traffic safety.
