A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the National Coalition of 100 Black Women on their
tireless efforts in recognizing and visibly promoting gender
and racial equity and the Pennsylvania chapters of the
Coalition of 100 Black Women for the work they do in this
Commonwealth.
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women,
established in 1970, has consistently promoted leadership
development and gender equity in the areas of health, education
and economic empowerment; and
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women
consistently seeks and develops alliances with those in
leadership from corporate, civic, political and governmental
entities to build consensus among special interest groups; and
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, as an
organization of career-minded women, both professional and
volunteers, draws upon the strength of its membership to work
toward solutions on issues of concern for all Black women; and

WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women is a
national organization with longevity and structure that is able
to attract and mobilize Black women who want to make a
difference in their communities; and
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women has
consistently demonstrated its ability to bridge the gap between
all its members, young, seasoned and wise, and has worked
collaboratively with other Black organizations to bridge
generational gaps as well; and
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women has
garnered thousands of members, and established 60 chapters
representing 28 states, nationwide; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Coalition
of 100 Black Women was established in 1981; and
WHEREAS, Each chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black
Women is committed to empowering Black women and girls to take
action in their communities and make a difference on issues that
impact the present and future; and
WHEREAS, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women is
structured for action and committed to being a united voice for
more than 20 million Black women in the United States; therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
National Coalition of 100 Black Women on their tireless efforts
in recognizing and visibly promoting gender and racial equity
and the Pennsylvania chapters of the Coalition of 100 Black
Women for the work they do in this Commonwealth.
