A RESOLUTION
Urging the Congress of the United States to provide additional
funding for storm water infrastructure projects in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Storm water runoff picks up pollutants, such as
trash, chemicals, oils and sediments, that enter our rivers,
streams and lakes; and
WHEREAS, The Environmental Protection Agency regulates water
pollution through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System by requiring permits and requiring municipalities to
develop storm water management programs; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Environmental Protection educates
and assists municipalities and coordinates joint efforts to
comply with storm water regulations; and
WHEREAS, Municipalities are increasingly seeking additional
funding from residents through new or increased rates which has
created an additional burden on our residents; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge Congress to provide additional
funding for storm water infrastructure projects in this
Commonwealth; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the presiding officers of each house of Congress and each member
of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation.
