A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of March 2019 as "Irish-American Heritage
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, On March 17, 2019, the Irish community in this
Commonwealth celebrates the occasion of the feast of the
glorious apostle of Ireland, Saint Patrick; and
WHEREAS, The theme of the 2019 St. Patrick's Day Parade in
Philadelphia is "Saint Patrick, Unite Us!"; and
WHEREAS, Fleeing political, religious and racial persecution
in Ireland, Irish immigrants arrived on our shores penniless and
unwanted, yet filled with hope that the United States held a
future in which Irish immigrants and their families would enjoy
the bountiful fruits of a nation founded upon the principles of
liberty and justice for all; and
