A RESOLUTION
Commending the 111th Attack Wing, 171st Air Refueling Wing and
193rd Special Operations Wing of the Pennsylvania Air
National Guard on their selection as 2018 United States Air
Force Outstanding Unit Award recipients.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania Air National Guard wings execute a
range of tasks and missions in support of military operations
during wartime and peacetime; and
WHEREAS, All numbered Active Guard Reserve Air Force units
are eligible for the Outstanding Unit Award, a performance-based
award recognizing service over a two-year period; and
WHEREAS, Air Force personnel and the personnel of other
military branches assigned or attached to an Air Force unit are
authorized to wear a corresponding Air Force Outstanding Unit
Award ribbon; and
WHEREAS, The Air Force has cited the 111th Attack Wing, based

at Horsham Air National Guard Station, Montgomery County, for
its role in cyber operations and its deployments for Global War
on Terrorism operations; and
WHEREAS, The Air Force has cited the 171st Air Refueling
Wing, based at Pittsburgh International Airport, Allegheny
County, for its readiness for nuclear operations and its
refueling and cargo missions; and
WHEREAS, The Air Force has cited the 193rd Special Operations
Wing, based at Harrisburg International Airport, Dauphin County,
for its combat missions and broadcast hours and its deployments
across 27 nations; and
WHEREAS, For the first time, all three Pennsylvania National
Guard wings are receiving Outstanding Unit Awards during the
same awards cycle; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commend the 111th
Attack Wing, 171st Air Refueling Wing and 193rd Special
Operations Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard on their
selection as 2018 United States Air Force Outstanding Unit Award
recipients.
