A RESOLUTION
Observing February 12, 2019, as the 210th anniversary of the
birth of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United
States.
WHEREAS, President Lincoln was inaugurated as the 16th
President of the United States on March 4, 1861, and held office
until his death on April 15, 1865; and
WHEREAS, President Lincoln was born into humble circumstances
on February 12, 1809, in a log cabin in Hodgenville, Kentucky;
and
WHEREAS, President Lincoln grew up in Indiana and moved to
Illinois in 1830; and
WHEREAS, A strong believer in the values of education and
hard work, President Lincoln was a member of the Illinois
legislature for eight years and a successful lawyer; and
WHEREAS, President Lincoln served in the United States House
