AN ACT
Designating a portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, known as the
Willow Grove Interchange, and Willow Grove Exit 343 at
Pennsylvania Route 611 in Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery
County, as the Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf Interchange.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf Interchange.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf entered the
Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1976 being elected to a seat
in the House of Representatives to serve the 152nd District.
(2) After serving only one term in the Pennsylvania
House of Representatives, Senator Greenleaf was elected to
the Pennsylvania Senate in which he would go on to be
reelected seven times.
(3) Before his retirement in 2019, Senator Greenleaf had
the honor of being the longest-serving member of the Senate

and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
(4) During his tenure as Chairman of the Judiciary
Committee, Senator Greenleaf authored 161 bills that were
signed into law.
(5) Senator Greenleaf leaves a legacy as an advocate for
child victims and a champion of consumer protection.
(6) Outside of his Senate career, Senator Greenleaf's
leadership and dedication to improving our community and
Commonwealth are unparalleled.
(7) Few elected officials have had the legislative
impact that Senator Greenleaf has manifested across our
Commonwealth and his work, integrity and devotion to duty
make this honor appropriate.
(b) Designation.--The section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike,
known as the Willow Grove Interchange, and Willow Grove Exit 343
at Pennsylvania Route 611 in Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery
County, is designated the Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf
Interchange.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the
interchange and exit to traffic in both directions on the
interchange.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
