AN ACT
Amending Title 20 (Decedents, Estates and Fiduciaries) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in estates, further
providing for effect of divorce or pending divorce on
designation of beneficiaries.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 6111.2(a)(2) of Title 20 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 6111.2. Effect of divorce or pending divorce on designation
of beneficiaries.
(a) Applicability.--This section is applicable if an
individual:

(2) designates the individual's spouse as beneficiary of
the individual's life insurance policy, annuity contract,
[pension or] profit-sharing plan or other contractual
arrangement providing for payments to the spouse; and

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
