AN ACT
Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in marriage license, providing for
copy of marriage license.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
§ 1311. Copy of marriage license.
(a) Issuance.--Upon request, a county shall issue a copy of
a marriage license to an individual listed on the marriage
license.
(b) Fee.--
(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), a county may
charge a fee to issue a copy of a marriage license under
subsection (a) that shall not exceed $8.50.
(2) No fee shall be charged to issue a copy of a
marriage license under subsection (a) for the purpose of

obtaining a State-issued identification, including, but not
limited to, any of the following:
(i) A driver's license, as defined in 75 Pa.C.S. §
102 (relating to definitions).
(ii) A REAL ID, as defined in section 2 of the act
of May 26, 2017 (P.L.6, No.3), known as the Pennsylvania
REAL ID Compliance Act.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
