AN ACT
Amending the act of July 14, 1961 (P.L.604, No.304), entitled
"An act relating to apprenticeship and training; creating a
State Apprenticeship and Training Council in the Department
of Labor and Industry to formulate an apprenticeship and
training policy and program, and defining its powers and
duties and providing for administration," providing for
review.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of July 14, 1961 (P.L.604, No.304), known
as The Apprenticeship and Training Act, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 6.1. Review.--The Department of Labor and Industry,
in consultation with the council and the United States
Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration,
Office of Apprenticeship, shall conduct a review of this act to
determine whether amendments are necessary to comply with
applicable Federal law and regulations governing apprenticeship
programs. The following shall apply: (1) within ninety (90)
days of the effective date of this section, the Department of

Labor and Industry shall report its findings to the chairman and
minority chairman of the Labor and Industry Committee of the
Senate and the chairman and minority chairman of the Labor and
Industry Committee of the House of Representatives; and (2)
the report shall include recommendations for amendments to this
act that will be necessary to comply with applicable Federal law
and regulations governing apprenticeship programs.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
