AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in vocational education, providing
for attendance of pupils in home education programs.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 1847.1. Attendance of Pupils in Home Education
Programs.--On obtaining the consent of the area vocational-
technical board operating an area vocational-technical school or
technical institute, and with or without the consent of the
board of school directors of the district in which the pupil
resides, any pupil in a home education program under section
1327.1 may attend the area vocational-technical school or
technical institute. The school district in which the pupil

resides shall be charged, for each pupil attending the area
vocational-technical school or technical institute, an amount
equal to the total approved budget for current expenses, debt
service and capital outlay divided by the number of pupils
enrolled in the school.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
